    SET Star at Armageddon Auckland

Auckland, April 14, 2002 -- SET Game, AstroJax, KINATO and Bungee Ball were the star attractions at JAYZ International's colourful and busy stand at Armageddon Auckland 2002.

Thousands of people visited JAYZ to try their hand and bend their mind with the amazing SET Game, the family game of visual perception.

Jay at Armageddon: Jay Esser plays SET with the crowds at Armageddon 2002

"Playing SET makes you smarter. The more you play, the smarter you become," says Jay Esser of JAYZ International, New Zealand's leading distributor of cool, classic mind games. And there were plenty of players willing to test their thinking throughout the three-day event.

SET Game is a game of perception and logic, invented by mathematician and computer programmer, Marsha J. Falco. The object of the game is to identify sets of three cards, in which they either share varying attributes or are completely different. There are around 1000 possible sets in the 81-card deck and more than a 90 percent probability that there will be a set among any 12 cards. You can play Set Game and Quiddler daily at www.setgame.com or purchase the games today.

Many visitors to Armageddon were also keen to give KINATO, winner of the Best Toy Award, Hong Kong Toy Design Competition, a go - even if it was just to get all the pieces back together in a triangle.  KINATO helps develop IQ and EQ (emotional quotient) with a clever chain of 16 triangles that can be formed into hundreds of different patterns and designs.  KINATO is a combination of a conventional puzzle and a tangram.

    Astrojax

Juggler, Mark Williams, amused the crowds day after day with his favourite toy, AstroJax. Physicist Larry Shaw created AstroJax to demonstrate that physics can be fun, dubbing it the yoyo for the 21st century. "It is a fantastic toy. I love it and finally it's available in New Zealand thanks to JAYZ.  It really is easy to get started and always a challenge making up new tricks. You can do whatever you want with it," Williams says, swinging AstroJax over and under.

Paul Manning, Sales Manager of JAYZ International was also on hand to demonstrate the amazing Bungee Ball, introduced to New Zealand by JAYZ in April 2000. The Bungee Ball is used by coaches and trainers to improve balance coordination and speed. The Bungee Ball offers endless fun and functionality. It is best described as a ball on a string, retractable like a yo-yo.

Billy-BOB Teeth and the colourful Just Jump It skipping ropes were also popular, along with the full range of classic educational and mentally stimulating games.
